Try Removable Adhesive Labels For Networking Name Tags

By Richard Patterson

For people who like to throw parties, it may be worth the time and effort to consider a networking mixer. These are places where people get together to talk shop, socialize or a little of both. The location can be a banquet room or other rental space that permits food and drinks to be served. While some may resent wearing name tags made with removable adhesive labels, these can prove effective when remembering names without looking for a business card.

While this may sound like a lot to the novice office worker, this process is very easy. However, it is best to make a list of what will be exported and what will remain. Generally, files that are more than five years old or accounts that have been inactive for more than a couple of years are ideal candidates. The person in charge of this task may have guidelines that are better suited to their needs.

The difference is clearing a single room or space in a day instead of having thing scattered around the home and sorting through piles. The latter may work with a small home or single room but paperwork, small items, and other objects that need to be sorted take time and energy. The volume approach can easily zap a person of energy, it may be best to work with another person who is good at sorting and organizing.

If this is the case, it may help to order labels that have an icon that represents a particular group. For instance, those who work in healthcare may have an image of a stethoscope or the red cross symbol. Participants that work in information science may have keyboard clip art on their removable label.

Adhesive labels can also be handy in a color coding system, which is what many professional organizers use in their business. While this can be confusing to some, the best way to set this up is to determine what has immediate use, minimal usage or is not likely to be used ever again. An individual can choose the primary colors, or go with their personal favorites.

Just like homes may have personal touches that can become too much, desks and other surfaces can suffer from clutter as well. While things like awards, certifications, and other professional credentials should remain in view, pictures should be placed on a wall frame instead of a desk. Although pictures from company events can boost spirits, it may be a good idea to minimize personal pictures that are sitting on a desk.

Some people like to put pics of their loved ones or interests on a screen saver but some companies may frown upon this. They also may feel that standalone photo frames add to desk clutter so a wall collage that fits into small spaces may be the solution. These are fairly inexpensive and come in a number of styles and colors.

While a person may not get rich from doing this, they can brand themselves as a person who knows many people in the area. Even if someone wants to have an intimate gathering at their home, they can gauge how much interaction is taking place and find out what came of the encounters. If a person finds they like this type of work, they may have found a new career for themselves.
