By Gary Allen

Whereas, there are also now dedicated sites focused on specific careers such as those in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Indeed and Dice are two favorites for individuals working in the Internet Technology field. There are also other categories and postings though there is a great deal of focus on computer engineering, programming, technical writing and other related employment. In addition, a number of contractors and sub-contractors use these sites to find additional contract or temporary help in the administrative, legal, medical and scientific fields.

In most cases, professional recruiting companies and temporary agencies will also list employment on a company homepage. While this is the case, these entities often require an individual to to apply in person. At which time, the company will provide a set of tests based on skills and experience. After which, the agency will send the individual on assignments or to a prospective employer to complete the application process.

Lastly, some individuals have found that working for others online can provide more freedom. While true, many freelance sites such as ifreelance.com, freelancer and others charge a membership fee. Whereas, many have been discovered to be nothing more than scams. As such, those seeking to work at home online may want to vet these companies more carefully than others.
